85. Real talk about sustainability
I’ve been hosting this podcast for almost two years now. Having a sustainable business isn’t as easy as it should be.
One of the first episodes I recorded was about my thoughts on sustainability and what it’s about. So I decided to look at what I said back then as it doesn’t feel like my business is very sustainable at the moment.
Here are some tips on how you can start making your photography business more sustainable:
- Taking time off
- Putting yourself first
- Working towards goals
- Being creatively fulfilled
- Working with clients you love
- Marketing in a way you like and can keep doing
- Building confidence and mindset
- Preserving the environment
Other things worth mentioning is: Outsourcing and automating, having systems, setting boundaries, changing and evolving, building your business around your life instead of the other way around, having profitable prices, being ethical, saying “no” to focus on your business and not just the fun part.
Learn how to outsource as a photographer with Jan Madigan

And there are so many things that we can still learn from the community and from other businesses as well.
Key takeaways
It’s ok to be a work in progress. There’s always room for change. And change is coming.

hi, I’m ingvild
This podcast is all about education and inspiration for photographers. A sustainable business is profitable and lasting. Instead of short-term wins you want to make sure you’re doing things that matter. Both to yourself, and to create the business you want. The goal of this podcast is that it will help you build and structure your business around your life, instead of the other way around.
